About Me

Ming-Jyh Chern, B.S., M.S., D.Phil., Professor, was born in Taipei. Currently, Prof. Chern is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Taiwan Tech and in charge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Laboratory. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral fellow of Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei. Prof. Chern received his first degree and master degree from National Taiwan University. Subsequently, he received his doctor degree (D.Phil) from University of Oxford in 1999. He was financially supported by Ministry of Education (Taiwan), British Government, and St. Hughs College during his study in Oxford. Prof. Chern has published more than 30 peer-reviewed technical papers in SCI journals and 60 conference papers. He has been serving as an editor for Journal of Chinese Institute of Engineers and Journal of Scientific Research Reports. His research interests include marine renewable energy, ocean engineering, computational fluid dynamics, fluid structure interaction, and biomedical fluid flow.
